The position

Mission Measurement is looking for a full-time Account Manager to join our Client Solutions team to develop and manage long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients. This position will report to the Vice President of Client Solutions, is based in either Chicago, IL or Washington D.C., and will require periodic domestic and/or international travel as determined by leadership.


  • Be the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and build long-term relationships as a trusted advisor with key client stakeholders that will generate revenue.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop strategies for MM/client engagement roadmap
  • This individual will be expected to oversee multiple client engagements with minimal oversight.
  • Act as liaison between client and service delivery teams to ensure quality service delivery including ensuring quality of analysis and outputs and managing project profitability
  • Develop and present MM marketing materials and proposal documents.
  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks; communicate in a timely manner and aspire to deliver a positive customer experience
  • Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor sales metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts). Report on the status of accounts and transactions and suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Contribute to organization strategy through identification of new product or service offerings to meet market needs by monitoring and analyzing customer’s usage of our product and services.
  • Present key findings from work output in internal and external settings.
Key attributes and qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in professional services, CSR, consulting, account management, and/or business development. Direct sales experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate program.
  • Washington D.C. applications –experience with the federal government preferred.
  • Strong social sector background with experience in CSR strategy and impact measurement is preferred.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures. Grant management and evaluation experience is a plus.
  • Proven to successfully lead program design, strategy, measurement, and/or organizational change in the client context
  • Demonstrated project management experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience managing teams including ensuring quality of analysis and outputs, managing project profitability, and stewarding professional development of team members
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Experience interfacing with clients; ability to build personal relationships with clients and become a trusted advisor
  • Passion for generating positive social impact by applying a business minded approach to the social sector
  • Ability to develop marketing materials for client meetings
  • Experience in producing proposals for RFPs
  • Ability to sell minimum of $500K of new business to prospective customers and strategically expand into new markets, including identifying new product or service offerings to meet market needs.
  • Ability to apply analytic thinking and creative strategies to client engagements
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite, Project Management systems and Salesforce
